Always think of the Masters as heralding the start of spring

Longer course again this year. Rocco Mediate sticks in a fine round to start with but big Vijay looks good at -5 after 15.

Poor Nick Faldo has had a nightmare, never much like him as a personality but during the late 80's and early 90's he was THE man on the golf course. Will never forget the way he blitzed Greg Norman that year in Augusta in 1996.

Singh is looking good with a 5 under 67. It never ceases to amaze me just how good these guys are.

Thunderstorms delaying the golf today. Leaders aren't out until 7.50pm our time. Looks like it will be another late night

Good bunch of players all within 5 shots or so of the lead, would love to see big Darren Clarke do well here. But, I think that Mickelson must be looking good given his current form although no-one has won the Masters after winning the previous week since Sandy Lyle - '87?

I couldn't do 1000 sit-ups in a week let alone five times a week. He's amazing. I wish they'd talked to him some more.

Yes - leaders from yesterday (Chad Campbell et al) had to play 14 holes from their 3rd round this morning.
