The Matrix on Blu ray

The Matrix Trilogy is pap anyway tbh.

1st film had potential, the 2nd film went at things the wrong way and the 3rd film went OTT.

A complete waste of a potentially great franchise. could have been a lot darker, and believable if it wanted to be.
 
A question to the people who didn't like the two sequels, how many times have you watched them?

Before getting the hd dvd set last year I'd only watched them once, from watching again I'd say that the second is easily as good as the first and the only thing that lets the third down is the overly long assault on Zion.
 
Apart from watching the whole trilogy once at the cinema, I have watched both of the other sequals at least twice more (once on dvd and once on Hd-dvd)

Couldn't agree more. The Matrix is one of the most consistently over-hyped films of all time. It's a decent premise but the writers and producers got entirely too clever for their own good and concentrated far too much on eye candy and visual effects. The fighting was comical and the acting was even worse. They compounded the problems of the first with two rushed sequels which they tripped over themselves to cash in on. A real waste.

An imdb rating of 8.6 and a no. 33 positioning on the best films ever scale is an utter joke. Quarter of a mil votes would disagree with me but they're wrong :D
 
shocking as i prefer 2, then 3 and finally the first, only reason i can think of is because i watched them all pretty much same time, so perhaps the hype built up too much for some people so for a lot of people it was impossible to please as they were expecting too much, unlike me i had a couple days to get hyped from number 1 and 2.

maybe not just seems to happy way too often, especially with games, they can be so great but if people read too much into it, hype grows and becomes impossible to please.
 
The first two are fantastic films plus the Animatrix. Not that bothered about the third my self but it still works.
I guess it's a bit like the new Star Wars films, you eather love or hate them.:D
