I miss their older sound like this, especially Holy Hell. That was peak Architects. Not too fussed on their more recent sound.
I still enjoy them tbh. The only recent album I struggle with is Classic Symptoms.

I've been listening to Architects since Hollow Crown and I don't particularly care that they've gained a wider audience or that their sound has changed. They were already big for a "metal" band when Holy Hell came around. The clean vocals aren't even scratching the ice on how their sound has changed since Holy Hell. Even HH was a slight depature from their more 'OG' sound and I think it was their best work. They can choose to change their sound and it's also my choice as a listener to decide what's preferred by me. That is the beauty of art.One of my favourite bands, I think they suffer from criticism most bands do as they get bigger, their 'OG' fans don't like this and start complaining that their old stuff is better. I think they have kept their style throughout the years, arguably more 'singing' in the latest album, which again some fans will dislike.
I'm actually listening to Holy Hell now, which is a phenomenal album, but I can easily switch to The Sky, The Earth, etc and enjoy it as much. Suspect that For those that Wish to Exist is still my most played.
I'm glad you can still enjoy it. I have listened to their albums since Holy Hell quite a few times but never find myself coming back for more. I'll listen to the odd song that comes on from those albums in my mix, but I don't go out of my way to put them on. Their earlier albums had me absolutely hooked.I still enjoy them tbh.
