Hi,
Just a quick one, can the magical buttons on the sides of the MM be used as forward/back in browsers and Finder?

Would love to know that before I buy one, my MX518 has got me hooked on using mouse buttons to do forward/back. :)

Cheers. :)

yeah they can be by using a 3rd party app, not sure if osx does it itself but definitely using another piece of software as I had to get a logitech control centre for my mx518 and I could have downloaded another piece of software but i've forgotten what it's called, but it will work!

The buttons on my MX518 seem to be doing it by themselves on Vista with no drivers.

If the MM can't do it I'll just get another MX518 tbh, I would like a bluetooth mouse though, which is why this thread is here. :)

I have the Wireless mighty mouse and its excellent!

The buttons on the sides arnt really buttons as such, there not like logitech buttons on the sides. When you press one you automatically press the other.

I use my side buttons for, and this is what its default at, Expose-All Windows, i find this even more useful than back and forth buttons on the internet. Expose at the squeeze of a mouse is great! Really handy when i have multiple apps open at once for fast switching!

Uhm.. I'll think about it, I've got till next week sometime anyway.

What other things can you set the MM button to do then?

Ta. :)

What the side buttons?

Ill get a print screen for you!

Heres a Print screen of what OS X shows in the prefrences.

Let me also say on a side note that the battery life of it is staggering!

Im still using the batteries i got with it 2 months ago and its only used 20% battery according to OS X!

Is the other options being able to bind opening apps to it? :)

Thanks for the screenshot. :)

Ill have a peak!

Josh

EDIT- Thats quite cool, i can open safari with a squeeze of the side buttons!

haha! Easily amused!

Dont think there is a way to do back and forth on the page. Jst do what i do, press backspace! haha!

Hope you get it as expose app switching through the mouse revitalized OS X for a couple of months back!

I was going to get a screenshot of the App switching on my MX518, then realised the button doesn't do anything without the drivers, and now in vista it just uses flip 3d. :(

Its also all clingy. :( *Uninstalls*

I don't like the side buttons on the MM, I press them by accident sometimes :/

I have the middle button set for expose. My expose is on a hot corner at home, but the work I do I'd always be slipping into the corner and setting it off all day and it'd get on my **** :D
