That's a nice shot. Is that a one off or do you do astrophotography?
Hi thanks. I shoot all sorts really ; astro is probably the least I shoot out of landscapes, sports, wildlife and macro.

Cool, I'm the same although I do, do quite a bit of astrophotography. I have yet to get a good shot of the moon. It's actually harder to do than many people suspect as its so bright and getting the contrast to show the detail, etc. is trickier than many people think.
try and get as a fast a shutter speed and low an ISO as possible with the closest aperture possible to the sweet spot of the lens, there's a degree of subtle enhancement in PP to bring out some sharpness, clarity and contrast then.
IS off on tripod of course, zoomed in as much as possible (this was shot at 600mm). I used Evaluative metering although you could experiment, and i actually think that the conditions might have helped, it was a very clear morning, just before sunrise. I always use manual focusing but for this shot I'm pretty sure it was actually autofocus!
