Ummm, I think 99.99% may be stretching it a bit tbh.

As far as I was aware Chinese-lanterns have only recently become very popular over here, I'm sure during the course of say the UK's UFO sighting history 99% aren't Lanterns, but I'm not suggesting they are green men either though.

And yes the vast majority of ufo sightings are these.

I can vouch for how UFO-esque these are. In Switzerland they release them a lot, often from the top of the local mountains, and I once saw a cluster for thie first time and was convinced for around 30 mins that I had seen something other-worldly. It was very amusing afterwards.
