Despite what magazines review and what benchie scores they get, whats the most demanding games you own and run?

for me its; (@1280x1024)

CoD2 - always been a pig and drops below 20 fps sometimes.
Q4 - the odd laggy bit in ultra hi

erm thats it cos i don't have oblivion and all my other games run smooth maxed out.

point being though i've always found cod2 to be my personnal demon. despite spex below, i can still not run it at utter max settings and get smooth play.

whats your personal nightmare game that may be contrary to popular opinion?

x24400 @ 2.4 - gainward 7800gs+(agp 7900gt) 512 525/700 for games - 2 gig geil - x-fi

Neverwinter Nights 2 is supposed to be at least as demanding as Oblivion. But it's not out till Friday in this country, so I won't know till then.

Other than that I guess it's Oblivion and Company of Heroes. In fact Caeser 4 is also VERY slow at MAX settings at 1600x1200, but it's a city builder so an ultra frame rate isn't essential.

CoH.

Can't crack 30fps in that mother! And it ain't even an FPS title!

FPS wise, probably FEAR pushes it the most.

(7800GTX)

COD2 for me. DX9 @ 1280x1024 (online) can get a bit sluggish at times, especially with all the candy on..

Everything else I have runs pretty much flawlessly..

Oblivion at absolutely max settings with 8x AA and 16x AF (6x AA if running an ATI card).

Also if running an ATI card add HDR & AA at the same time.

Watch your framerate drop into the low teens at certain points. (even on top end SLI / CF rigs)

F.E.A.R, very demanding, maybe due to bad engine coding......

COD2 with everything maxed out at 1600.x1200 is silky smooth on my PC! With 16x AF

F.E.A.R had my 7800gtx sli worried.. yet to try it with a single 7900gtx

it has to be said I am giving serious consideration to selling up and taking up reading because assuming you need £600 of hardware to play a recetn game looking nice is just madness.. I remember the days when I had a childish "I'm mad I am" cackle over blowing £190 on a 9800pro *sigh* :(

X3 Reunion is the most demanding game that I posess both graphics and CPU wise.

On the graphics front, events such as a medium to large sized in-sector dogfight or a capital ship battle can slow frame rates right down. At these (not too frequent, thankfully) times X3 makes my PC's F.E.A.R. and Oblivion performance seem positively blistering.

On my PC at least (X2 4800 / 1950XTX / 1280 * 1024).

ms flight sim x.... i tried the demo, crashed n crashes and my set up is suppose to be good enuff to run any games out there

This is a weird one for me.
I got a 2nd hand copy of Oblivion yesterday expecting it to push my system. After loading it auto set to Ultra High settings and played as smooth as silk.
BF2 creates the most heat i can say that but apart from that i have not really found any game my system struggles with.

Even though i will get flamed till next Thursday i have to say that i feel poorly set up systems are more to blame for poorly running games.
I think people concentrate on individual hardware performance rather than Overall system performance for gaming.
Mismatched hardware, wrong version drivers and poorly maintained systems full of dust and spyware i feel are more to blame for underperforming systems.
After all i succesfully game to a high standard and am still on AGP.

Edit for correction from A to AGP. Sorry all.
