It never stops!!

I've got a fractal R3 case with a I5 2500k and a GTX670 - both being cooled by seperate Antec Kuhler 620's.

My rig is pretty much silent, but now all I can hear is the faint buzz of the kuhler pumps!

Do I admit defeat? lol.

Or just wrap them in foam??! - although they might get a bit toasty. Or - I might just be being a little anal.

The only truely silent PC is one that is switched off lol

Is the noise of the pump really that loud? or are you a perfectionist?

It's not "loud" - the fridge that I can hear to the right of me in the kitchen is making more noise.

Maybe I should just accept that my PC is super quiet and be done with it. lol

It sounds like your system is pretty quiet to me mate. I can understand the quest for it and appreciate the effort you put in though. Maybe just wear headphones at your PC even when just surfing the web. ;)

100% silent is possible but unfortunately it becomes very difficult past a certain point.
In particular a 670 is going to be difficult.

My latest build currently still burn testing is 100% passive
Antec 900 all fans removed and drive bays.
Passive psu an older thermal take unit I've been using for at least 5 years.
I 2400 an nofancp95 cooler a fantastic bit of kit.
Graphics card is currently a 5850 with an accelero s1 plus but this simply a cheap experiment as I already had the card. I intend to upgrade to a 7850 or if I can get temps good enough I may be brave enough to try a 7870.

Even with this being a 100% passive I still intend to fit at least one fan on a fan controller set to kick in if temps start to get out of hand.

However the simple fact is this is absolutely working 100% passive gaming rig

At 1080 an unclocked 2400 and 5850 still give very decent performance in almost everything.

I've got two fans in my system running at 900RPM, CPU is passive. Even though my rig is pretty much silent I can now hear other noises more clearly. Now the problem is some high pitched whine which looks to be from a power adapter under my desk. It's a non stop battle!
