I'd guess
1) to try and keep Eddie in the shop window, so to speak, since he didn't go out on loan
2) For Balogun, sign then you get to play, but not the other way round

He was night and day our best player last season before the injury.

Literally every single one of them. He's had some good games and made some good saves but he's also a bit of a liability.

When the team were struggling for goals he did come up with a bunch of important saves to hang onto whatever points were up for grabs. However over a whole season he's more likely to give away points than save them, not good enough.
