The New Cases Gallery

My thoughts exactly. I know it will be noisery then my P180. But I just want something a bit smaller and nicer looking. And still have the PSU at the bottom. And the cable tidy thing looks good.

Coupe, I've just finished my first build with the same case as you, but the black model.

How did you find working with it?

Also your tuniq orientation looks wrong unless you are blowing air over the ram?

I'll post some pics up of mine this afo.

Tis true 120mm would be better, although you can set them at 5v or 12v and they are pretty quiet, but obviously don't provide as much airflow as perhaps I would like. However with the hard drive bay directly behind them I don't think they actually do a great deal of cooling anyway .

I think they've gone for more of an aesthetically pleasing look over functionality.

Having said that my temps have not really changed much from my previous case the Thermaltake Armor jr which had 2 x 120mm fans on the front.

Yea when I moved from my Icute case which has 2 80mm on side, 2 on front and 1 on rear with drive pay covers too out and a 120mm sat there my temps were about the same as they are now except the GPU was cooler due to two 80mm fans blowing at it.

Piece of cake to work on imo, I prefer the look of the tuniq tower that way round, there's no right or wrong way to fit it so long as you make sure you change the fan round if fitted like I have done.;)

One of my mates has a black fatality version and I was totally bowled over by the finish and overall quality of it. So impressed I brought one myself, pictures on the net really do not do this case justice, it's gotta be seen in the flesh to really appreciate it.

Very Nice coupe69! Nice Work Pal. I liked your first system better. Nice and tidy over the Thermaltake.

Lian Li V2000b - custom cut "Dragon" hand drawn and Dremmeled by myself.

Case currently houses Asus Cooamndo mobo, E6600 @ 4ghz, 2gb Balistix ram, 8800gtx gfx card (watercooled), two 150gb raptors, one 500gb Samsung Spinpoint, Sony Blu-Ray reader - DVD writer, Sound Blaster Xi-Fi extraeme gamer sound card. Asetex Antartica watercooling.

I believe that's one of two standard positions in the v2000+, could do with tidying the cables a bit otherwise it's great.

my work in progress:

this is still a work in progress. Need to get a SATA pci card and a few more hdd's and another 8800GTX.

System Components:

Coolermaster Stacker (Original)
Coolermaster Power M1000 1000W PSU
ASUS P5N-E SLI
E6600 @ stock
Tuniq Tower 120
4x1GB OCZ Platinum 6400 DDR2
BFG 8800GTX OC
3x WD Raptor's 74GB
2x WD 500GB SATA HDD's
2x 120GB Maxtor HDD's
2x 160 Maxtor HDD's
2x Pioneer DVDRW x16
Nexus Fan Controller (will be ripped out and replaced at some point)
2x ICY Dock hot-swap drive enclosures

I think I have managed to get this as tidy as I possibly can.

as I said just need the SATA controller and then I will be set until the next upgrade.

And it looks a bit wonky, or is that just me?

Should look great when it's all tidied up, although I would consider getting rid of the Maxtor drives, a single 500gb would nearly cover all the storage it won't be a Maxtor :p

My everyday PC. Socket 939 with an Opty 146@ 2.8Ghz (28*C) and an X1800 XT

how quiet are theses drive enclosures ? been looking at getting some to try and quiet mine down :(

They aren't the quitest thing int he world but compared to the amount of noise I had before they are quieter. since moving from the 3 to 4 internal enclosures I have heard my hard drives for the first time but only when under heavy access. I think the benefits these enclosures give far outway the noise for me.
