Yeah that was a great move I did, custom cable kits! Thinking of downsizing my tower to an Arc Mini R2 soonish. However the cables from my PSU for the SATA power are extremely cramp in my case as they extend in a U shape out the back..

Judging by comments in various places when announced with almost everyone seemingly disliking it.
Here is the SPEC ALPHA by Corsair.

Being done for a racing cockpit build, so only appropriate to do a racing theme...
Surely the added stripes and badge are bound to make the CPU/RAM/GPU and SSD all run faster?

Is nice to see how the planning of components finally comes together. Still some cable tidying to do yet.
Not seen see this combo anywhere before as some of the components are quite new but I am pleased with the performance and how it all blends together. Surprised with how the front red edge of the case lights up a bit and is nice effect.

i7 6700k @4.5Ghz / Deepcool Captain 240 White / Crucial Ballistix 4x4GB 2400Mhz DDR4 / Gigabyte Gaming 7 / Samsung Evo 850 250GB / 2x Corsair Red SP Fans / 1x Corsair Red AF Fan / 1x Corsair White AF Fan

GPU to come later...

Zalman R1 Midi

wanted a cheap case to put a drawer full of bits in.

I Bought the Zalman R1 Midi for 33.95 inc Delivery, I got what a paid for, its quote thin metal, the door is a bit flimsy, but was easy to build. I had read review saying there is a fault and you cant fit a second front fan and then replace the filter cover, Mine fits fine so don't wht that was about. Cable tidying is quite hard minimal space behind. There was a strange Bar across the middle of the case, the manual said for VGA Card support.. I don't see how.. Anyway because its a server board the power connections are in a strange place. so this bar ended up as a cable basket.

In the PC is a supermicro x58 ATX Board with a 4 Core Xeon @2.66ghz, 12gb triple channel DDR1333 , 120gb SSD boot, 500gb HDD, and a GT210 GPU with the retention clip sawn off, because PCIE slot is actually meant to take a riser bracket. Now all I need to find is a use for this PC? Chivalery Server?

just googled and it looks like a gamer storm captain...very nice looking

Thanks and yes is a "Captain 240"
It was an integral part of the rig build decisions.
Only cost me £60 so not much more expensive than a decent CPU heat-sink/fan but I think much much tidier looking build with it.
Offers decent performance and at a competitive price. Wont be the best performance option but my i7 6700k is running fine at 4.5Ghz and no issues. Just await results of GTX 1070 vs Polaris now to decide on what GPU

Love that Phanteks case... Here is my recently re-modded NZXT Noctis 450. I decided to paint it up matt, the original build log is below when it was white carbon wrapped. Painted the case with Plastikote, great stuff, really easy to use and worked on the SSDs as well.

The fluid seems to come out very deep blue in photos but its much closer in colour to the rest of the build in real life.

Original build log: Here

Chilling on my desk... Old Fractal R4 is sulking down below waiting on being rebuilt or sold.

Soon i'll be trying to stick two 1080s inside in SLI as has long been the plan to replace the 980Ti. Main bits inside right now are:

  • Intel Skylake 6700k (4.0ghz)
  • Asus Z170 Deluxe Mobo
  • 4 x 8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 (3000Mhz) in Blue
  • Corsair HX1200i PSU
  • 1 x EVGA Nvidia GTX 980Ti SC ACX 2.0
