I recently put together a bit of a ‘retro’ modern PC to use as a backup and mainly to look pretty on a spare bit of my desk.

It’s kind of a ROG themed 2015 build.

4790k, Maximus Formula VII Z97, 32GB Corsair Dominator Platinum 2133, SLI Asus ROG Matrix Platinum GTX 980’s. New ID 240mm AIO with some uprated fans, Fractal Gold 850w in a Grey Meshify 2 Compact.

New build of a new Nitro concept desk and the Hyte Y40, all bought from Overclockers

Inside is a Dark Hero Motherboard, 5900x, MSI 3080. I upgraded the fans on the AIO to match the Corsair iCUE QL120 RGB 120 mm to have a nice RGB look inside. Bought some white PSU extensions and white tubing cover as well to bring the inside to an all-white look. Under-desk cable tidying has been done since the pictures were taken :-)

My pc is starting to show its age now on the inside (sys in sig), as its about 5-6yrs old now, but I see no reason to upgrade as it does everything I want fine, but I have just upgraded my 120gb ssd to a 500gb and Im still old school and like having my drives on show hehe...

Decided to upgrade the computer even though it didn't need it. I have usually water-cooled in the past but really couldn't be bothered to do it and also spend the extra money.

Corsair iCUE 5000X RGB
Asus ROG Crosshair X670E Hero
AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D
Asus TUF RTX4090
Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32GB (2X16GB) DDR5 RAM
Corsair Force MP700 1TB NVMe PCIe 5.0
Corsair Force MP700 2TB NVMe PCIe 5.0
Corsair iCUE LINK QX120 RGB 120 Fans x6
Corsair Hydro Series iCUE H150i RGB ELITE AIO
be quiet! Dark Power Pro 13 1300W 80 Plus Titanium PSU

A Thermaltake core fits perfectly inside an Ikea Kallax shelf if you take it's legs off (and fit some shorter ones) :D

So I got a bit bored of my Meshify 2 Compact and fancied trying out a dual chamber case, I still need to sort the fans out and I'm debating moving the radiator to the side but I think it's looking good.

I'm really hoping the Lian Li SL-Infinity Reverse fans come in stock somewhere in the UK soon otherwise I'll likely end up opting for Phanteks D30.
