The "New Gear/Willy Waving" thread

Following the tripod trend, I picked up a cheap but cheerful tripod the other day. Really impressed by it, solid tripod for the money and the design is similar to some of the more well known brands, I guess you could say its a copy being a chinese brand but the quality is surprisingly good, anyone looking for a cheap but solid tripod for casual use, would really recommend this!

Where's the 35 :D

Also that tripod looks good, any closeups of the head?

Which one? The first tripod? Seriously though, will take a few later.

Would like to use tripod to take picture but can't because camera would be on tripod taking picture of tripod, aaarrrgghhh!

Urgh - I took my 100mm L out last weekend and out the blue it started failing to auto focus, AF light flashing. Tried it on another body and it's definitely the lens. I'm wrapping it up this weekend to send it back to Onestopdigital. Annoying as with this warmer weather it's the start of good times to own a macro!

You didn't need a tripod to take those pics anyway :D

Looks nicely engineered that.

Great lens and camera helps! It's got that feel in the hand of something really well put together, very well engineered. Turning the knobs, there's no play at all, very smooth. Can't wait to get out and take some pictures.

That looks interesting, any more pics of the head?

None on hand unfortunately, but can take some tomorrow.

It's nothing fancy, but can't complain for the money, the build is very good, made from mag-alloy, all the panning, movement, controls are smooth, and the features are very good, quick release plate with lock, pans 360, spirit level, claims to take 10kg but I would guess probably half.

So any clue as to what to search for to find it?:)

Hmm the ball head does look bigger than the one on the CF Tripod I linked to in the other thread so would be interested in knowing a bit more :)

Good old digitalrev, sigma has an eta of Tuesday :) I also treated my self to a red snapper tripod! I bought the RS-284 & RSH-12 Ball Head, looks like a good bit of kit.

Time to sit back and enjoy my purcheses........ And replenish my bank balance :/ lol

Why sit back when you can go out and shoot on such a beautiful day :)

Figure of speech mate :)

I started today @ 6am, I walked the 5 miles to Worthing town centre, then hopped on the train to Brighton, now sitting on the beach :)

The 6D is getting a hammering today :) I'm amazed by it, such a difference to my last crops!

Hah I figured as much :D

But yeah, once you've gone full frame with a nice big viewfinder, it's hard to use anything else!

God dammit, going on this thread isn't good for me.

I bought a Canon 30D from the MM in December, taken some lovely snaps from it using a Canon 35-75mm lense (3.5), hardly used my 80-200mm though.

But after having a go of my flatmates Tamaron 80-300mm I decided to pop onto a well known auction website and grab myself one.

Sisters wedding next weekend, gonna give it a good go around :L

Here's some quick snaps of the ballhead, put a mug in it for size perspective

As for what it's called it's a Weifeng Fancier WF-531BT and the ballhead is called WF-593BH. Don't think you can buy the ballhead on its own in the UK, I payed £25 delivered for it from a uk ebay shop and it comes with the tripod, ballhead and a shoulder bag.
