The "New Gear/Willy Waving" thread

I think that’s the most compact one I’ve seen since mine was discontinued. Mine can go down to under 30cm. I specifically wanted that because an A4 piece of paper is 297mm and I have a messenger bag that I can use and put it into. It’s the length of a magazine and sits sideways inside the bag.

That looks like a great one for my very rare use case. Good value also!

Very good price. Mine was near £200.

The other tripod I had in my mind is by Ulnazi or something like that? They make one that kinda copies the Peak Design at a lower price which came out about 2 years ago.

I also have a Gitzo 1 series for travel/work…took out a mortgage for that one!

Peak Design tripod turned up over the weekend, I’m very happy with how small it folds down to, fits great into the side of my backpack.

Got to wait a week or so, my first GM lens on its way thanks to my lovely wife (I was about to buy it myself but turns out so was she :D). Love me some 35mm.

Nice, 35GM is a stellar lens, there’s only 1 other lens I preferred to that and it’s the Sony 20 1.8G, other than that, it was 35GM for 90% of shots.

I haven’t done photography since Covid, but the pics in this thread are really tempting me back - the wife won’t be happy !!!

Not had a chance to use mine yet. Still trying to get out and use up my last film that i loaded first! I've been trying to sort out the lenses with fungus in them but they front ring to remove the front glass is seriously stuck on so i might have to see about using some isopropyl alcohol to loosen off any potential glue that's been used.

EDIT

I see yours is the professional S where as mine is a professional F

I've seen a few of these with small notches cut in the front rings, presumably to get purchase on them to release. Good luck!

This one doesn't come with a waist-level finder so I'm on the lookout for one. Ebay has them for almost what I paid for the camera and I can't bring myself to even consider them. It came with the 135mm and 65mm lenses so I'll also be keeping an eye out for the 80mm which would be my preferred focal length on 6x6.

I think the main difference between the F and S is that the S has more plastic in its construction which has the benefit of weight reduction but the downside of being less sturdy. There may have been other minor changes but nothing of significance I believe.
