It works. I just got a warning for accidentally quoting a minor swearie around a month ago. Consider it a successful test.

Anyone else been thus blessed?

Yeah we use the infraction system at EOCF and it works well... a lot easier for mods than having to manually suspend/ban people. Works out less harsh too.

All depends on the mods definition of "minor" I spose. Swearies are for some reason treated as the devil here, and rules is rules.

No sorry I meant searching for swearies in order to infract them. A swear filter would cut down on about 50% of the moderating in this place.. silly not to have one implemented imo, even if they do claim it's out of "principle"!

Well the system has only just been implemented so it won't have been active when you were banned/suspended as it won't have been used to do the job. You can suspend/ban manually without any need for infracting.

I dont completely understand this.. Do they just respond to posts that are flagged? Or do they get alerted when a swearie is used?

It's just a system a moderator has to manually use when they spot something worth infracting, but it makes things a bit easier.

Not really... when you get people consistently making threads with stupid titles that don't give any info as to what the thread is about then it gets old very quickly. And also you get people that consistently hotlink to huge images regularly, and ian infraction usually stops them doing it again.
