I was a big fan of the old EU, has anyone read any of the books since they established the new canon, are they worth reading? I remember reading a review of the first book that was not complimentary but that was back around TFA.

The ones I read made the old EU look like masterpieces. They just haven't worked the story direction out yet so there's no little neat cross overs like there were in the EU. Vader comic is about the only thing I've enjoyed so far and Dark Disciple if you are familiar with Ventress and Vos.

avoid the aftermath books - they are terribly written and dont actually tell you much at all

Bloodlines was good (leia before TFA) gives good background on the galaxy after ROTJ and the politics that lead to TFA
Catalyst is very good and leads you into Rogue one very nicely
Lost Stars was cool to see the things from the Empire POV

I also read the Inferno Squad book which i thought was meh
shattered empire is short but sweet (comic)
