So I've just bought an xbox. Its the black 4gb version with built in wifi. I've got fifa11 and mw2 to play but I'm having issues.

When I press y and select install disk, it throws up a screen saying no storage device or something. In settings its showing 3.2gb memory unit.

Can't be right?

Should have never gone anywhere near the stupid 4GB model :(

It shows 3.2GB because of formatting and what ever other technical terms escape me. Like if you bought a 500GB drive for your computer it would probably show 465GB or something free.

I suspect you do not have enough room to install the game.

I doubt it. Check store policy. You can stick an old xbox hdd in there if you take it apart.....and at some point they'll release a separate hdd. Always good to do a little reading up before buying a new console. Easy mistake to make though :)

Sorry, but I did lol. Should have really known you wouldn't of been able to install games without a HDD.

How is the peformance when installing to a flash drive when compared to the HDD? Is there less popup in games like Gears and GTA?

LOL

Another 30-50 notes for the 250gb model goes a long long way. Lower entry point systems always leave you needing to buy the rest of the console in the end.

This thread needs a facepalm. A big one at that.

Hardly, I thought a game install would never take more than 4gigs. Silly really but easy mistake I guess for an Xbox noob.

Anyway just exchanged for the shiney 250gig version and managed to get f1 for 17quid :)

All ended well.

Its still face palm worthy. :D

At least you learned from your mistake.

btw, most xbox 360 games are 6-8gb.. not sure if it installs all of that gb or just the textures, audio ect.
