One of labour's big mistakes was to vote for Ed Miliband rather than David Miliband as leader. I think the party would be in a very different position if it voted the other way.

And documents passed to the BBC suggest Jeremy Corbyn's office sought to delay and water down the Labour Remain campaign. Sources suggest that they are evidence of "deliberate sabotage".

One email from the leader's office suggests that Mr Corbyn's director of strategy and communications, Seumas Milne, was behind Mr Corbyn's reluctance to take a prominent role in Labour's campaign to keep the UK in the EU. One email, discussing one of the leader's speeches, said it was because of the "hand of Seumas. If he can't kill it, he will water it down so much to hope nobody notices it".

If this does end up going to a leadership election, the membership can not reward such selfish and careless behaviour. People's jobs are at risk. The economy is tanking. Those who orchestrated this coup need to be put in their place, no matter how you feel about a certain slightly different ideology to your own you can not abandon your duty to the people of this country at such a crucial time and expect to be rewarded for it.
 
I thought this would blow over but it looks like, at the very least, there will be another Labour Leadership contest. Too much of the cabinet has gone for Corbyn to stay regardless.

I have said this from day 1!

I blame the unions completely for that absolutely shower of ******. So much so I pulled out of the union I was in haha.
 
Jesus... David Miliband = DM = Paper that wound the nation up to vote leave with immigrant rubbish = It was all a plot for David Miliband to get in power.

Hmmmm That would be pretty great to be honest! I like Ed, but never ever saw him as a labour leader or a leader of any kind!

What an amazing shadow opposition that would be!

JC, Burnham, David M! Would it happen tho..... Only time will tell.
 
It's the NEC that decides who stands in a constituency isn't it? And they're not as anti-corbyn as the PLP. It would be a very combative move, and I'm not sure the people of Batley and Spen would appreciate being used as a political tool after having a fantastic MP stolen from them. The trend seems to be to get candidates that are already popular in the local area - high profile councillors or campaigners that already have some name recognition.

Warnings were ignored, meetings cancelled and a desperately needed Labour message was lost. This result will have effects on everyone, but especially the poorest in our society- for decades to come. These are the people we seek to protect as the Labour party, and we have failed - Jeremy Corbyn has failed."

BTW Andy Burnham............ Every other shadow minister has resigned and standing up for what they believe in and what they think is best for Labour yet he sits idly by, says nothing not wanting to get noticed as 'one of those who stabbed Caesar'. He is a first class premiership weasel, as soon as Corbyn steps down he will be the first name on the ballot paper.

Agreed. Maybe it's easy for David Milliband not being in front line Politics but every time I have seen him interviewed or he has been brought in by the Media to give his views. He has always come across as someone with a strong head on their shoulders, articulate and was able to speak common sense without resorting to name calling.

There honestly could not be a much stronger contrast to his Brother who looked like a fool every time he went up to debate David Cameron.

I am a SNP Voter who is quite glad to see the back of Labour in Scotland but I do wonder if DM was leader of the party if he could have swayed my thinking.
