The Nicest Place On The Internet

I see what you've done there. By the quotation marks around nice you're implying it means the opposite.

So it isn't nice, for the reasons you've said. I don't understand your question.

This might help.

You've failed at trying to be smart.

Use single quotation marks to highlight words not being used for their meaning. It's the convention in certain disciplines such as philosophy, theology, and linguistics to highlight words with special meaning by using single quotation marks instead of double quotation marks.

Don't know about all this hugging stuff.
Last time I asked a cute girl "If I tell you you have a beautiful body will you hold it against me?" I got slapped

No actually, because you were using your quotes as literally quoting what had previously been said. Your sentence was already stating that it didn't sound nice, you were using the word in its proper sense and therefore there was no need for the single quotes to create any other meaning.

Just because there are some acceptable uses of single quotes, it doesn't mean you're using them correctly.

I am the smartest of all. Go me.
