Hey all,

Just thought I'd share another little kickstarter some of you might be interested in...

I've had my MacBook Pro since the beginning of 2011 and I've not once had to use my SD slot - so this definitely interests me :D It sounds great to put the slot to good use, and have a decent on-board backup solution!

Any thoughts? :D

Thanks,

Marky

They mean increase your storage not RAM! It's just an adapter for mini SD cards. I'm happy plugging my mini SD cards into my existing adapter directly into the MBP.

I saw this last week. The pricing is hilarious, I can buy 3x microSD > SD adaptors for a quid. Sure, they won't sit flush but give it a few weeks after this is out and you'll get ones that do.

Thanks for this, definitely going to order one. Think I might keep my iTunes library on this and save space on the main drive for apps and games.

Not bad idea to be fair, you can understand it being far cheaper to simply buy a normal SD card but for me if I did have a Air/Pro I know I'd want it to be flush that way it'll fit in your cover/case and basically you or anyone else will not notice it sticking out of the machine which I know would annoy me. Not so sure it'll be much use as a TM unless you do have a 64GB Air, but it can be handy for that extra storage.

Do you not still get the annoying warning "The disk was not ejected properly" after sleep/wake and various scenarios that you do with USB unless you eject the drive first?

Good times :) Yeah it'd be great for holding your music and other small documents on.

I never said you, I said "they" did. Check your quote in the OP! :)

Ah my apologies, I thought you meant that I had said it was for RAM :p

This would be good to know, never tried SD card in my macbook before

I dont get it  Its a microSD to SD card convertor.. ok so its flush to the macbook but at that price.. its not nifty...

If this was a dragons den idea.. I certainly wont be backing it..

I wish they would make usb cables sit flush against the machine. e.g Like the thin wire that comes out the PSU -- make that plug in like the power cable of the mac pros.

Neither had I, in fact it used to annoy me, I'd look at it and think when would I EVER need to plug an SD card into my laptop, that space could be another USB port, I could use that.

...........then I lost the stupid proprietary cable that one of my cameras came with and suddenly that SD slot is the best thing since sliced bread :D
