****The Nintendo 3DS Thread****

The top screen is bigger than all DS's except for the XL. the bottom screen is marginally bigger than the DSLite but smaller than the DSi's

Screen Sizes;
DS Lite = 3.0"
DSi = 3.25"
DSi XL = 4.2"
3DS = 3.53" Top, 3.02 Bottom.

The top screen is large and you have a lot of space to work with.

The bottom touch screen is big enough but personally I would've liked a larger one.

I need to see one. Based on screen size I'm dubious, but I need to see one in action and hold it to really tell if it would bug me.

There are already 100,000 pre-orders and the initial shipment of 3DS in the UK is confirmed to only be 185,000 units so yes it could sell out on launch day and there's no indication of when more will be shipped over here.
 
When I finally got my hands on the 3DS, one of the things I was impressed with was the quality of the screen even with out the 3D effect, it reminded me of the screen of the psp, it was colourful and sharp.

You just made me think of something I haven't seen mentioned ANYWHERE. I wonder what the policy is on stuck/dead pixels? I would imagine it would mess up the 3D effect quite badly, not that I've ever seen one on a Nintendo handheld.
 
I'm paying £220 for mine with Pilot Wings and Monkey Ball :P

Will change Pilot Wings to Rayman though if it gets decent reviews.
 
I've not pre ordered a game with it :p will play through Pokemon Black/White again and then pick up a game for the 3DS or depending on reviews Rayman :) / Zelda

I always thought Rayman was ****ing ****. But then at the time there were other games like Crash Bandicoot, still, I wouldn't waste my money on a Rayman game ever. I remember in my old work some guy brought a Wii in with that stupid Raving Rabbids game or whatever it's called...

Raving rabbids is nothing like true rayman games, the original rayman on the Psx is a fantastic game, The great escape was also good, though it's been released on the PSX, DSi, N64, 3DS so it's getting a bit old now.
 
I want splinter cell but I'm worried it won't be good.

Looking forward to the Mario games I'd like a paper mario game similar to the wii version.
