The Nirvana Of The 2010's

My friends band Talk To Angels got reviewed by Indie Band Blog and described as "the Nirvana of the 2010's".

This is their first single after they released an EP in 2010. It's out on the 30th. What do you think?

Comparable to Nirvana?

No shades of grey in that comment.

I don't think they are comparable to Nirvana either, I just thought it was funny.

There is a fair bit of angst in some of their songs though.

I dont want another Nirvana in my life, thankfully they are nothing like them and sound quite good, wish them luck!

Not bad, I like the sounds of their voices in this video, but err no the lyrics are pretty bleh and they sound like most bands of this time, they are a FAR FAR FAR shout from being Nirvana.

Good if you like this type of thing, but not my cup of tea.

Having said all this, they are still not a bad band by any stretch of the imagination.

It's okay but it's too pop for my liking. There are a thousand other bands that sound fairly similar...

The only bands that are remotely comparable to Nirvana are Seether (because of his singing style) Soundgarden and Pearl Jam (because they were part of the grunge movement of the early 90's)

Agree with this, very generic but not a bad sound. Probably do well for themselves. Be interesting to here som elf there more angsty songs. Perhaps they are better.

What Nirvana would have sounded like going forward, if Cobain wasn't dead is probably one of the greatest unanswered questions in music history.

Nothing like this, that's for sure. When were Nirvana ever 'unadulterated fun'?. Really, that's a ridiculous comparison. I don't personally like this song, I find it to be saccharine and samey (and the backing singer grates on me). But aside from that, they're absolutely nothing like Nirvana lol, not in any sense.
