The **Now Eating** Thread

Why does it just say "fish" and only in medium? Lol

I'd be wondering what sort of fish they are giving me.

Lol, to be fair, they list the fish they have in at the time on the board. Usually Cod, Haddock or Plaice.

It's never that price and the size is the size (usually a decent size)

Tandoori chicken starter.
Lamb Madras
Bombay rice (amazing)

Funnily we got chippy for dinner today and then i was browsing here and saw loads of chippy posts so thought i'd post.

Hadn't intended on it as we had some leftover gnocchi in the fridge, but drove past a chippy on the way home and my wife commented it was unusual to see one open on a Monday. That planted a seed and so i got her looking to see if any of our usual ones were open. They weren't so turned around to the one we saw open.
Annoyingly they didn't take card so then had to go find a cash machine. At this point i was adament i was having chippy for dinner!

Once inside it was like a time machine. I've not seen prices this cheap for 20 years, nor have i seen the food on one of these old fashioned boards :D

"Fish" doesn't bother me as i rarely, if ever choose it.

Food was great, they had the chips part cooked as it was quiet, and then finished them off which resulted in lovely fresh crispy chips. Curry sauce was lovely too.

Bought a Lidl curry bag for two. £3.99. Problem is both curries is in a twin microwave pot. Very delicately cut the dividing plastic. Then halved the rice pot.

Small issues for what is a good bag for half the price at other supermarkets

Been ages since I last got a Chippie, but the one I used to use charges £8 for a fish supper. I’m assuming it’s haddock, nearly all Scottish ones are. £8.10 if you want a special fish supper, which is the fish done in breadcrumbs rather than batter.
