I just tried one, perhaps it’s my simple palette but it just tastes like an ordinary strawberry, not as sweet and a bit juicer, perhaps. Nice but probably lost on me!Well played @MrsHB

Nice, I see you also found them less acidic. I did a side by side last year of the most ripe varieties of both that I could find and came to the same conclusion.

A few snippets from the last couple of days. We’ve eaten well!
Sunset burger at Burger Lounge in La Jolla. Needed fuel after swimming in the freezing cold pacific with sea lions.
Souvenirs
Pizza in little Italy. Worth the walk, but actual Italy is better for pizza.
Can never eat a cinnamon roll outside Coronado again. Paired very well with a million refills of diner coffee. Clayton’s coffee shop has been open since the ‘40’s for good reason.
Guacamole done proper
Fish and shrimp tacos
Home mode hot sauce.
Miguel’s in Coronado. I think I’ve only ever eaten in two other restaurants on consecutive evenings in my life. Never thought I’d do the same at a Mexican restaurant. Top drawer, the fajitas and margaritas were also 10/10.
Steak sandwich in Laguna Beach. Once again, I’m not sure I can ever eat a steak sandwich outside of Nick’s restaurant again.
Looking forward to returning to Birmingham for a proper curry
(And some vegetables!)
