Zombie Alien Pirates from America?

Hahahahahaa. I love it. :D
That's nearly as bad as the Alien Ducati Lizards that abducted half of my clan. :(

I have added a couple of computers to the cause :).

Will add a third later, which is better (faster at computing), the linux client or the windows client? The third pc I'll be adding is a low spec box with ubuntu on at present, but I could install XP if the client is faster.

Not bad considering you have those extra 700mhz to contend with - but yea H20 would tend to help in that case :p

I should really look into better cooling but my 120mm Noctua is doing *alright* for now

Platypus - Core temp is a great program for monitoring temps.

TOO - XD, yeah it certainly helps, although it still gets into the 60+70 under prime95 and IBT :(

how much does it use up? I have a monthly limit too and don't want to pass it
I'd guess at around 30MB/day/core, but that is only a very rough guess so has a big margin of error (if you want to be really cautious, double it).

If that's a problem, access your account page at Rosetta@home, go to Rosetta@home preferences, edit the preferences and change the 'Target CPU run time' setting. For example, selecting '12 hours' would reduce the bandwidth requirements by 75%.

I can't find that Target CPU run time option :/ Is it true the longer each task runs, the more points it gains?

Just installing this now. Is there any chance i can set this to just use 1-core? if thats the case, i would be able to leave it going full at it 24/7

Yes, but you'll be completing less tasks, so it averages out.

Preferences are here: http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/prefs.php?subset=project

Yes, you can. Use this link once you've logged in to 'your account'. http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/prefs.php?subset=global
