was having some problems with my cellshock RAM about a month ago (system didn't boot sometimes and one stick was suspecteed faulty)

i rang OcUK and they asked me to try a few things which i did including run memtest, which was done and after 14 hours testing it had three errors, they considered this as conclusive and asked me to RMA it.

i had to buy some more RAM as i can't be without the PC for work, so i got some ballistix from the shop the day i took the cellshock back. i've been ringing them for the last few weeks chasing the refund but they just kept saying they were very busy, which is fine, but now they've decided the ram is fine and have returned it to me, charged me £10, and to top it all off, i can't justify selling it since becuase of the delay in them testing it, it has now dropped from the £160 odd quid that i paid to the current price of £88.

i feel like i've been royally screwed over is there anything i can do? i don't really hold OcUK responsible i can see it from there side and have used them for many years and will continue to but from a consumer point of view, after spending £1400 on a new rig to be done out of £80 odd quid is a kick in the teeth, i was already stretched :(

advice please :(

Stick the memory back in and run memtest again, if you still get errors, go back to OCUK and demand a refund (including the £10 they charged for testing it), if you get no joy, contact your local trading standards office, if you bought it with a credit card you could also contact your bank (I think, don't quote me).

Failing that, wait for memory prices to go up (which they always do) and then sell it, probably best not to sell it on the MM though now people know that it's possibly faulty.

ok, well this thread is in danger of making OcUK look bad which i certainly dont want to do... thanks for the advice and lets just leave it there.

Cheers.

Thats why it is good to buy from overclockers because if you have a problem they don't quibble over what is probably not much money to them and just give a refund. :D
