You only get the best performance if you put the U3S6 in the lowest 16x slot, if you put him in the first you won't get similar performance.
Is the other slot, where you had bad performance, a 1xPCIE slot because it's a 4xPCIE board the U3S6?

I don't know i have a HP XW4600 workstation with these specs:
Chipset: Intel X38 Express North Bridge/ICH9R South Bridge
Processor Socket: Single LGA775
I am not that technical is there a specific name for my motherboard?
Hopefully my vertex3 will arrive today, cancelled the order from another shop and bought from here.
Anyway it's the 120gb version, is it worth partitioning the drive, say 40 /80 with the 40 being for the OS and 80 for any programs / games I want on or not?
Also can anyone point be to the correct list of all the things I need to do to get the drive installed.
regards,
Matt
Its a false reading on the temps mine shows it too![]()
I haven't got SATA 3 on my motherboard.
If I bought this - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CC-000-AS&groupid=701&catid=49&subcat=424
Would I get the same performance as a motherboard with SATA 3 give or take?
Don't fancy upgrading the system yet.
