I'm still rocking a 2018 6 core 2.9ghz i9, it's definitely overdue an upgrade.

I purchased an M2 Max for the mrs in February, along with Applecare, so should keep her quiet for a few years!

Well the MBP M2 Pro 16"/16GB RAM/512GB SSD has appeared at <£2500 which was my biting point. This is one hell of an impulse purchase as I'll be spending all my savings on it.

I'm hoping that within 12 months from taking delivery, I am able to learn some Swift and will have developed some kind of iOS app and on the path to getting a job doing such. If I haven't, I'll have considered this "experiment" a failure and will be probably be up the creek without a paddle.

Pretty sure after 4 years, the business asset is worth almost nothing due to depreciation?

I couldn't find anything in writing but yeh I've heard that too.

Thanks for posting that @MrRockliffe - I also have an i9 from 2018 with 32gb and it struggles with a few chrome tabs, Spotify/YouTube and gets really hot. Think it’s finally time for an upgrade!
