Mister Delivery man has just turned up with my 7900 GT
I'm currently running :

520/1500 stock settings

Will post some initial clocks ASAP.
The heatsink on this thing is tiny so will be ordering a VF 900 next week.

Post your 7900 clocks please.

I will bench soon to see how faster it is over my 7800 GT

What model 7900GT did you buy easyrider?

I bought the XFX Extreme edition got a real bargain.
Currently running 3D mark 05 test.

7800 GT : 7117 3D/05

7900 GT : 9047 3D/05 520/1500

Nearly 2000 points gain with the 7900 GT.

hmm my XFX 7900GT auto detects to 539/1602 with coolbits. Quite an increase from 470/1370!

Just did auto detection myself and got 548/1624!
Faster memory than some GTX's!

Just doing another 05 run to see if everything is in order.

Very nice, though to be fair yours is the extreme one mines the cheapo bottom of the range one

It didn't cost me extreme prices though
Try for more I bet it will go higher.

I want to see the core clocks on these. Memory clocks are largely insignificant if the cores won't clock higher as it is only bandwidth after all. My X2 4400+ @ 2.8ghz scored 9823 stock with my X1800XT 512MB for reference.

Ah my bad
Well my X1800XT with an opty 144 @ 2.7ghz gives 9.4k at stock for 2005. Keep clocking and lets see what clock speed is needed to achieve a similar score.

9770 - 585 - 866 - 2600GHZ

83.90 Drivers that came with card, need to find some drivers for toca 2 as these and the 84.xx have halved my fps, but as you can see the card is working fine

Very impressed with my card, (XFX 7900gtx), not too impressed with the overclock. Stock clocks are 665, detecting optimal frequencies thingy only bumps it to 683....hardly worth it. Not loaded 3DMark06 so no e-penis number I'm afraid, however, Quake 4 multi is sitting steady at 60fps, 1600x1200, HQ, Ultra quality, triple buffering and LOD clamp on...so I'm happy.

I wouldn't be suprised if you don't see 700mhz on the core.

I tried a load of drivers, tried an new .inf on 81.98 to see if they would work, nope. The 84.20 betas were buggy for me, back to 83.90s. Powerstrip v3.61 is buggy with both sets of drivers, the clocks dont stick at times, a couple runs at stock, it then works alright.



I am a bit surprised at the lack of posts about people who have actually bought this card, maybe it is early yet and some are waiting for price drops

I'm using the beta's 84.20 with no problems got a big boost in 3d mark 05 over the 83.90's

what clocks are you running?

the fan is going in a week anyway ,getting the VF900 I never use stock fans on any gfx card I have anyway.
