**THE OFFICIAL AMD CHIPSET DRIVERS THREAD**

Can you give any more details on the stability issue? I hate how vague the release notes are. I've been having an issue where if Bluetooth is disabled then randomly on boot it will disappear from Windows and show a warning in the Device Manager. Leaving Bluetooth on all the time seems to fix it.
No sorry, but it’s not related to your issue.

Step 1: Reboot Your System

Start with a full reboot of your PC.

Step 2: Run the Idle Tasks Command

After rebooting:
  1. Open Command Prompt.
  2. Run the following command: powercfg.exe /queryprofile scheme_current profile_gamemode CPMinCores
  3. Once you run it, leave your mouse and keyboard alone and let the process complete. It may take several minutes to finish.
You may want to temporarily disable:
  • Sleep mode
  • Screen timeout
This ensures the task completes without interruption.

Step 3: Verify Core Parking Status

To confirm everything is working correctly:
  1. Open an elevated Command Prompt (Run as Administrator).
  2. Run:
powercfg.exe /queryprofile scheme_current profile_gamemode CPMinCores
You’ll see one of two results:
  • “No profile found” → Core parking is OFF
  • Core parking configuration details → Core parking is enabled and showing its current settings

after a few reboots it seems to have fixed its self..
I've noticed these run a few watts less at idle? might be wrong.

I’ve been playing GTA lately and it’s been very smooth until I updated the chipset. Now I’m getting really bad frame drops every few minutes.

Any ideas?

Tried rolling back the chipset drivers? If this works then you know its then causing the issues.

I’ve tried uninstalling and rolling back however it now won’t allow me to install any drivers it states “AMD chipset software installation failed”

Did you try this from the known bugs section for the latest drivers? it says V6 and earlier but maybe the same situation when trying to roll back

Known Issues

  • After installing the AMD Chipset Installer version “7.xx.xx.xx”, users cannot install version “6.xx.xx.xx” or earlier.
    Workaround:
    • Un-install the latest version of the AMD Chipset installer (version 7.xx.xx.xx or later).
    • Delete the “Qt_Dependencies” folder located at "C:\Program Files (x86)\AMD\Chipset_Software\".
    • Install any older version of the AMD Chipset installer (version 6.xx.xx.xx or earlier).

I will give this a go. Thank you!

Unfortunately this didn’t work.

Even when trying to uninstall it hen re install the new chipset drivers it fails.

What’s the best way to remove the previous chipset?

Do you use system restore? could you restore back to when the drivers where installed or to before they where updated?

I’ve done this just to get me back to where I was.

What’s concerning me though is that I can’t install even the latest chipset anymore as it keeps failing so I have restored a couple of times.

Something very strange.

@LtMatt have you encountered this before?

There are others experiencing the failed issue also after searching online.

Potential fix -

If the main installer fails:
  1. Run the installer and let it fail.
  2. Navigate to the temporary folder where files are extracted (often C:\AMD\).
  3. Locate AMD_Chipset_Drivers.msi (or similar).
  4. Run that file directly to override the failed installation.

Tried all online fixes and still failing. I’ve turned firewall off etc as recommended by AMD and just won’t work.

Never had this issue previously, always worked without any trouble.

Looks like I have to fresh install Windows!
