Do folks feel that 'official' threads are more official, important, have a greater gravitas than good old regular threads. Are eyes drawn to the 'official' threads more than the others?

If the general consensus is no, then how come they exist, and why are the **** stars **** and 'official' titles still used?

Yes cos if there's other topics on a similar theme if there is an official one it tends to get moved into said official thread.
