can someone confirm the black one (got the URL already) is avail for pre-order - gonna get me one but I don't want it in white.
 
How do you go about installing XP on these things then? Definitely interested in one but would rather run XP than Linux on it.
 
People seem very blase about installing Windows on this.

It's certainly not as easy as people think it is, I'm yet to find a link specificaly aimed at the Asus Eee and installing Windows, and how easy it is going to be...
 
Id say its fairly easy to install it on there.

But for just simple use, Linux is perfect for it.

Windows yo'd need to install a smaller version.

My brother was looking for a cheap laptop for his daughters christmas and all they will use it for is msn and internet so this will be ideal. Think I might get one myself for messing about with linux.

Have a look over at the eeeuser.com forums - tons of people over there have already managed to get hold of an eee pc and have installed windows - some have even installed vista! It is as simple as it sounds.
 
Just about to buy one for uni work etc, but can't decide between black or white. Anybody know whether the black is similar to the mac book black or more silvery black?
 
Has anyone got any pictures of it in black?
