64GB Model - £334.99

Well I bought this tablet last week and LOVE IT!

Has to be the best all rounder tablet on the market. 64gb full blown windows 8 for £300 is a bargain :D

Installed 8.1 which seems to work really well

Does anyone have the issue where when it goes to sleep it fully powers down? or is that an 8.1 beta issue?

Thanks!!

Websites say this is RT rather than W8... ?

Not sure how it is the best all rounder, it's got pretty average specs for a tablet and at that price is beat by the much "better" Nexus 10.

It's not rt, where you get that from?

These are great tablets, just a shame about screen res and the IGP. Other than that they really are fantastic and I agree best all round tablets, mainly due to full fat windows due to the intel atom.
The next gen out for the hollidays, solves the IGP and screen resolution. As well as other less essential areas of improvments. As well as meant to be cheaper

Just a shame the current gen were released with the specs they were and the RRP was insane.
The next gen, Arm, atom and I sites of tablets is such a step up, it's just to late buying at this time, unles stop get an amazing deal.
Especially as next gen atom tablets, intel say should be around $300

I just came back to add it seems you can get it with RT or full windows 8.

Just to check, is that keyboard dock (like the transformer) or is it just a wireless keyboard?

I guess I'm just not a fan of full windows on a tablet, anything that I'm going to use that's an x86 based windows app is not going to be touch friendly...

I would like to see something with this design (mainly weight, size and battery life) with a transformer like setup and a higher res display... That would be worth considering dropping an Android tablet for. It would mean I could do my normal tablet stuff and then if I wanted to edit something in vegas or some advanced graphics stuff I could just dock up and go laptop mode.

.
This cann't be had with RT as its an intel atom CPU.
vivoTab is what they call their series of win8 tablets, which cover RT, atom and Core-I

Next gen will be what you want. Intel showed off a refrence design, oh and it runs dual os, win8 and android.

Can't wait to see proper bench marks, I expect it to be much faster CPU than arm, but I doubt GPU will match arms offering. In the meantime this is about all we have to go on.

The first benchmarks of Intel’s upcoming Bay Trail SoC have appeared online – and it’s good news for x86 fans, but terrible news for ARM: Bay Trail-T, clocked at just 1.1GHz, is around 30 per cent faster than Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 clocked at 2.3GHz, the fastest ARM chip on the market.
This data comes from an Antutu benchmark, which shows a device with the code name "byt_t_ffrd10" – Bay Trail-T Form Factor Reference Device – racking up the magnificent score of 43,416.
This is apparently at 1.1GHz, while running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean (it is probably the Android reference tablet that Intel showed off at Computex last month).

In comparison, the latest Galaxy S4 with LTE-Advanced support, with the Snapdragon 800 SoC, scores just shy of 30,000. To round out the comparison, last year’s Exynos 4 (in the Galaxy S3) scores around 20,000, and Tegra 3 scores around 15,000. In short, the Bay Trail-T SoC is an absolute monster that’s 30 per cent faster than the top competitor and three times the speed of Tegra 3.

Nearly every(or is it all) win8 tablet are transformer style.

Edit - actually this seems to be a bluetooth keyboard, a poor mans surface inspired keyboard, magnetically attached, but bluetooth.
The acer w510/w511 which is basically identical is transformer style. The keyboard doubles the battery life to ~18hrs. Bit small on the screen size for me, but my mum loves it, especially as acer fixed the modem now.

I don't consider this a tablet to be fair, it's more like a laptop in a tablet case. Considering the Nexus 10 runs android and this is windows it's completely different.

If you can show me a full windows 8 64gb tablet for around £300 I'd be surprised. If you can I'd actually be interested as we are placing a large order for work soon.

I looked at the official case/keyboard but it's £80

Decided to get one of the moko cases which are brilliant (and do some wicked colours)

Just for clarification I own the following:

Dell XPS 10 (Win RT)
MS Surface RT with Cyan Touch Cover (Win RT)
ASUS ME400C (Win 8)

iPad 3
Nexus 7

Surface RT is made a lot better, much better actually.

That said, the asus isn't too bad. It's much thinner and lighter over the Microsoft one

Luckily I got one absolutely free from any backlight bleed

Had mine for a few months now still liking it, shame the app development is a little weak, would be great to have gta etc on it but im sure things will improve, with regards to the IGP its not all that bad if you ask me, the games I do have run pretty smooth. Managed to finally get XBMC running on it last night so all in all it does all I need it to :)
