I thought the customisation would bother me a lot more than it actually does to be honest. I don't know whether they have toned it down to what originally was planned but from what I've seen so far it all seems period and just variations of what soldiers would have worn.

I think it is the fact the soldiers look nothing like period or nation.

To me, that is not a BF game and certainly not a WWII game. I refuse to play a game in which a tank round to the face won't kill someone but a throwing knife at 50 meters insta-kills people.

Try world of tanks.

If tanks just destroyed infantry in the game it would be a bit imbal

nope - no vpn.

No issues with any other games (overwatch, PUBG etc)

Even selecting European servers in the custom options brings up about 10 servers all with 90+ ping.....

The Peacekeeper in bf1 was a fidget spinner.

And goldeneye had a golden gun way back..
