You can't blame him for wanting to retire after an event like that. Losing two close friends who have been there from the start would be hard to get through on top of having to find people who you trust to 'replace' what they brought to your team.

From a fans perspective I do wonder if retiring would be the smart move as if I put myself in his shoes I would've thought having something to focus on and do in their memory would be a powerful motivator but then again maybe each time he wraps his hands up he'll get memories of his friends and it's too much to bear.

Life is crazy. One moment you're on cloud 9 and the next moment you are centimetres from death and probably experiencing the lowest of lows. I like the expression 'don't let you life be a lesson to others' but this should really be a learning moment for everyone. We are only promised the present and not a second more.

So if he continues to fight, i'll continue to support but if he hangs the gloves up then thanks for the amazing nights of entertainment. He certainly helped make heavyweight boxing exciting again. Came up short for his dream to be undisputed but he held multiple belts and fought some good names... and broke Jake Pauls jaw.

edit: I should've read the last page. @Parky summed up my thoughts mostly.
