Sorry if it's been discussed before but I did a quick search and surprised that little has been discussed about this chip. I know C2D can be had for very little now but these single core variants are expected to be priced between $30-$60, so £30-£45 hopefully? Plus with only 35W TDP and exceptional oc potential these are looking very attractive indeed, the new budget king perhaps?

There should be 3 models at launch - 420 (1.6Ghz), 430 (1.8Ghz) & 440 (2Ghz). According to the Intel roadmap they should be here this quater to replace current P4 & Celeron.

Details of these chips can be found here:

Some initial OC results that I can find:

3Ghz @ stock vcore / 3.3Ghz @ 1.4V
stock results are better than X2 4400+ in some everest benchies  He has a 460 with 2.4Ghz stock speed though:

And another one - 3.6Ghz @ 1.6V!! - 19secs SuperPI 1Mb:

Looks like it's gonna be a great clocker indeed :)

£21!! May get one just for fun!! Ultimate budget rig chip, the perfect stop gap until the price cut in July.

Looking forward to some games results :)

Got 2.4GHz on a 420, using an abit AW9D MAX board. FSB is at 300, board doesnt seem to want to go higher, is a bit old now. Temps seem quite high though, 50-60'C, although core temp says the tjunction is 100. I am using the stock cooler.

What cooler are you using? If it's stock then the temp is probably normal since the stock cooler for these chips have only half the height with no copper base (from the reviews in OP).
