***The Official Conroe Overclocking Thread ***

Sorry to drag this up again, but I'd really like to know stepping/batch codes from anyone who's bought an E6600 or E6400 from OcUK recently. I'd greatly appreciate the info. :)

ive got a bit of a general question

in all the memory timings setting, which ones are the ones to change, and what should they be aimed for?

gigabyte DS3 is a great board, or the DS4, DQ6 of the new Asus Wifi One

From what I can tell you need a Intel chipset as the 590 Nvidia seems to top out around 325ish. Will be nice to see what the next few months will bring. . .

Ive got a 6600 to 3.0 ghz currently. What is the max Vcore i should be using on air? I`m using 1.35 at the moment (all other settings at stock) and the CPU is hitting 55C max on full load, but is stable (well orthos beta has been running 20 mins no prob - usually fails pretty quick for me if its not). Also what is the max temp i should have?

Also im using the stock cooler ( i know - how foolish of me), was going to replace it straight away but wasnt sure which one to go for. What is a good cooler for this CPU? I have a PC-7 with the stock fans inside, so i dont want anything that will be louder than those.

EDIT - 65C using the coretemp program. Im guessing the 85 bit at the top isnt a reading from the case (Tcasemax)??

I know what you mean, I was hoping the DFI Lanparty UT NF590 SLI INTEL was going to be my next mobo, but it's not looking good atm as its topping out @325fsb. Hopefully things will change before it goes retail. . .

Abit AW9D-MAX looks nice too.

I was thinking that as well... the Abit Workstation motherboard looked good but I'm not too sure about that... confused out of my head!

you mean asus workstation board!

Abit AW9D-MAX is not a workstation board.

im waiting for the ATI board, the RD600, Gibbo "said" he had a sample, still awaiting his results.

sure there was another asus pro I saw on XS, looked the dogs with major mosfet cooling. Maybe it was a abit :/ i'm as confused as Stelly with all the mobos looked at recently.

The 6300 can use that fsb and if they all unlock down its better to have speed via fsb then via a multiplier.

Where did you read that about the rd600, Ive not read any reviews yet. Are these going to be premium boards like the 975 are?
