I started this thread, and the hype monster has overwhelmed me, and yet I still don't have one - 28 in the preorder queue and they got 27 in
I was told today, and now I have been told it should be tomorrow. If it's not tomorrow I won't expect it before the end of next week
Hate to moan, but I preordered aaaaages ago as well, in store, with a 20 quid deposit.

Still waiting on parcel force for my brothers console.....
Got him some Wii points and COD3 as christmas presents.
The shop I went to had quite a few games in stock, the wii points but nothing else (wanted a nunchuk), they had a big list of names of people who wanted wii's and were getting swamped.

The remote is heavier than you expect, considering the size. With that and the looseness of the wrist strap, it's a bit more understandable why there've been breakages with it. But still, I won't be chucking it like a loon, so I'll be ok.
Taking it's own sweet time to finish updating though. Anyone else having this problem? Our internet speeds are fine, so I reckon it's probably just because there's so many people updating too.
And my second remote now won't be sent until the 22nd apparently :/. If I can, I think I'll cancel that bit and but one in a shop, or get Wii Play.

What do people think about software availbility on the run up to xmas - I was going to ask for red steel/monkey ball etc for xmas, but I don't want there to be shortages, what do the store shelves look like for games stock so far?

Fairly decent report on the wii on BBC Lunchtime news today about shortages and the console wars.
See this is why there are always shortages of new consoles because the makers would rather sell out and have the "must buy" christmas item and get a ton of free publicity on the news than have loads on the shelves and no publicity at all.
