The Official 'Countdown to Wii' Thread!

I just got a call from a high street retailer saying that I will be getting my wii next week :D

I will be getting wii play, Zelda and I need to decide between either Red Steel or Cod3. Any recommendations on either or are there any other games that could be worth a shout?

I was really looking forward to CoD3, but then I saw that there's no multiplayer for it :( Such a disappointment... that was a real wasted opportunity.

Well, it can't hurt, but the machine has 512 built in. The only things really need storing will be VC games.
 
Ahhhh not long to go, so excited now

I'll be going down on the 8th (hopefully the place in Swansea in the Quadrant will do a midnight launch) pick up my Wii with Zelda and Red Steel. Possibly Wii Play just for the extra Wii-mote

Havent been this excited about something in ages, come on the 8th :D
 
Just had this email through - Seems like a good deal.

Having said that, its kinda worrying my email says it'll be before christmas and doesn't say the 8th :/

Ah ffs, just called the store and apparently i'm not in the 'green' zone for launch which might mean i have to wait for the second batch, but they'll call me :/


Booked the day off as well, and preordered right at the beginning of october!

They wouldn't tell me, but i know they took 54 orders in total. I would've thought i was quite early on but hey ho. It would seem im not getting one on the 8th now, to be frank, im ******* gutted :/
 
I've got one pre-ordered. But waited too long, and i'm in a "2nd phase", which means I might have to wait a couple more weeks (hope not).

I'm still trying to figure out what exactly you get in the standard package?

I am guessing, you get 1 Wii remote, Wii Sports games, and the standard cables/etc.

Anyone know if you get the nunchuck with it, or is this an "extra"? :/
 
Well I got an email from the online store I bought it from saying that I should be getting one for launch.

Tho I went a bit over board with it, I started off with Zelda and a Wii console, now I’ve got pre ordered Wii console, Zelda, red steel, wii play, Call of Duty 3 and 2500 wii points :p
 
Just discovered that the place I've pre-ordered from has an absolutely shocking set of 3 bundles - including such classics as Cars (bundle 1), Cars, GT Pro & Wii Play (bundle 2) and those plus Red Steel and Zelda (bundle 3).

Absolutely gutted tbh, especially as when I pre-ordered I was told they'd have decent bundles like (just) Zelda + Wii Play etc. I would have never pre-ordered there had I known it would be ******* Cars!! What use is that to a 22 year old bloke? Going to write to their head office and complain; had some pretty rubbish service there from start to finish now.

Any ideas? Reckon I could return Cars, or take it to a different store (without receipt) and do an exchange? It's £30 I really could spend on better.

This isnt from the place thats the main games retail shop in the country is it? As I preordered from there to and dont really fancy any of those bundles, except the third and cant really afford it
 
I don't think so. It's a toy shop, rather than a games shop. Can't really be more specific. The bundles are priced at 209, 269, 299. Wanted to spend 299 max, but that would have been on Console, Zelda, Wii Play, component cables and nunchuck (£289~).

It does save you money, but Cars and GT Pro (and Monster 4x4 also I believe) are useless, and I'm not bothered in the slightest about the wheel shell.

Going to try a local shop, and two big supermarkets this week. Both the supermarkets are doing 24 hrs, but don't know their allocations till Tues/Weds.
 
Ive got a preordered one, but not that fussed about getting one on release day, hopefully might get one pre Xmas though.

Was in Morrisons earlier so thought Id ask if they were getting any in. Was a lad and a lass at the entertainment desk, lad was busy so had a word with the lass...

Me "Excuse me, do you know if you will be getting any stock in of the Nintendo Wii"
Her "Im not sure, Ill just check"
Her to the other lad "Are we getting any Nintendo Wi-fi in"
Me to the lad "Are you getting any Nintendo Wiis in"
Lad "Whats that?"

Gave up and walked away.
 
Man, I really am getting excited now.

I hope that it gets delivered from the e-tailer in the morning, if it comes late afternoon I'll be so narked, I dont want to waste my day off waiting.

I wanna play Zelda :(
