As you say the first set you get given, others you will pickup as you go. My 4 sets I mostly picked up within a week and since have collected more powerful items over time.

Seasons normally last 2-3 months I think.

Rathma Necro is fun for my speed build I've got but at higher GR's it's not cutting it, also seems quite squishy as you've gotta jump into packs to stun with your bone armour, how does pestilence play?
 
Cleared GR90 now and starting to think upgrades are a myth, having to augment gear with gems to get the extra DPS I need to progress.
 
I got my second primal drop last night, can't clear 76 as does is a bit short so just farming rifts for keys then grs for better items but struggling to find much
 
changed some items last night and got a DPS of 1.1mil, cleared GR 76 solo and will continue on the search for better items and upgrading gems to then destroy in the cube for extra dex :)
 
I can't for the life of me get a well rolled amulet for the extra 5 stacks of bone armour. Pumping all bloods into it, upgrading all yellow amulets, every one that's rolled is dogpoo stats, even had a primal ancient one that rolled terribly, would have had no CHD as it needed a socket.

I am having the same issue trying to get a ancient yangs bow, keep getting legendary ones which are worse than I already have

If anyone needs boosting with a alt or anything let me know. Managed to boost someone from 39 to 70 in three rifts.

At the moment I am just doing grs to level up some gems. Got I one on 80 and started another which is on 13. The three I'm using are 2 x 75 and 1 x 81 so getting there with them.

Glad to have helped, was quite surprised how fast we got you to level 70.

I was getting bored of grs so was a little break, back to rifts tonight for keys and then back to grs for find this bloody bow, I am after the ancient bow as I have the legendary one.

Will continue levelling gems, got 1 at 80 now and another at 53 waiting for argumenting.
 
Yep I tried boosting a friend from 1 to 70 the other day and I think it took about 7-8 quick Rift runs to do. Shame you can't run higher than tier VI !!

You know what @ED209 , I didn't realise you could, and why you would, level gems higher than 25 !! do'h !! Had to have a quick google as to why. :eek:
 
You can't go any higher because anything after that difficulty needs unlocking by doing solo grs

those are just spare gems to argument as they will get distoryed once you use them at the cube and you will get a new one from grs again to get them back.

the ones I'm using are 2 x 75 and one is 81 and the bonus you get from the gems go up each level so they are worth levelling. I have picked up little bits each season as I normally play with someone from work who helps me out with that stuff. The argumenting will help loads to push the higher grs. So far I can solo gr 83 and anything higher I don't do enough damage at the moment so this is next.

This is my first season I have also put it a lot of time in as I am still enjoying the dh a lot.
 
And still my crappy luck remains. No luck at all with the blood shard trader, so thought I'd run a few GRs to see if any of my set pieces drop from the final warden. Green helmet drops, great I think- finally. Oh yeah, really great it's a ******* Demon Hunter helmet. Really useful for the Necro I'm running. To date, I've still only had the sum-total of one piece drop. It's doing my nut in.

Maybe get a group of 4 on here together one night, can then drop anything you need
 
I've managed to get three full sets for my barb, mostly using shards. So I'm grinding them out on my Barb and trying to gear my Necro who has a few greens.

Will be on tonight if need peeps to form a group.
