I think we all agree that the "exploit" isn't fun or engaging gameplay?

What would be better is if Frontier fixed the mission system properly adding more interesting content with the reward suitable to the risk and time required to complete it.

The "exploit" really is a bug, don't tell me this is how the game is meant to be played as that is utter ****. And like it or not this is a multiplayer game, who knows what lies in the future regarding player driven economy and anything else that is tied to credit balance.

Its the "i want everything right now" mentality instead of enjoying the game, if you feel that something is broken don't just abuse the system and then use it as an excuse. Go and say something on the frontier forums (and yes I have been and had my 2 penneth). If you think the mission system is broken - write a post, submit a bug report, if everyone did this instead of just using an exploit then maybe the game would change for the better. /rantover

I've put 600 hours into this game and the biggest ship I own is an Imperial Clipper and my bank balance is around 40M. Sure I'd love to have a billion credits and buy a Corvette, I even had a go at finding my own 17 Draconis several weeks ago. But then I realised I was only ruining the game for myself.

well for me if there is something in a game that lets people advance quicker they will take advantage of it, I probably would have done it myself but when I heard about draconis they were only offering donation missions, it did help me rank up quicker but cost me about 250 mil, I do play in open so run the risk of getting ganked and I have done a few times tbh and cost me shed loads, I think I cost me nearly 60 mil one evening, but hey ho that's the game, if fd wanted to stop the mission stacking they could by doing a simple timed relog as in if you log off you have to wait x time before you relog which would stop or slow down mission stacking but they don't,

I quite agree bud and yer, logging out to stack missions is not my idea of fun and it is down to FD to sort it... Maybe they are happy for people to do that? as they don't seem interested in fixing it and it has been something that has been available for over a year. I have over 1500 hours of gameplay and sure I get bored and wander off from time to time to play other things but I have put my fair shift in and will stack missions again should I need to get me some fast creds. Put it this way, when delivery missions were good from Sothis/CEOS, I doubt anyone would fly there, accept 2 or 3 missions and fly off?

I've not tried to log in and out to stack missions cos of the bloody bug that means it keeps telling me I cant have any more missions, brilliant, got all this cargo/cabin space and cant fill it because of bloody bugs...

I'd rather they fix the bugs than find ways to stop people logging in and out to stack missions..

Agree but it is what it is. I enjoy owning loads of ships now. I did 'exploit' Robigo to get credits originally and went from 10M to 550 in about 5 weeks of casual play.

I also - forgive me - 'exploited' the 'Destroy the generator' missions to get from 800M to 1.5B in one day. Now that was boring. But it meant I could buy and A rate a Cutter after grinding the Imperial rank with HP 10716.

What that has meant is that I am now doing - and enjoying - and engineer grind for my Python and Cutter. I also do PP and get 5500 points for Aisling Duval each week

So - yes - it's definitely an exploit but not sure why someone is getting so worked up for how other's play. It's basically forcing your politics onto someone else and shouting profanity if they disagree with your opinion. Chill. Go play as you wish.

And it's not a MP game if you don't want it to be. Sorry. I enjoy Mobius PVE (US vers of Mobius) as everyone is friendly, people talk etc

Possibly stupid question but here goes anyway :D I have the NON-steam version of Elite:D does that mean if i see Horizons on sale on steam and i buy it it will work with my non steam version of Elite?

I'd imagine it would do a complete fresh install and you'd just sign into your account/CMDR and off you go!?

You'd then be able to delete your old install.

ps: Copy your configs incase you need to copy them over etc...?

Send FD a message and they might send you a code for Steam. My Original ED wasn't steam but I got a Steam code which keeps all my progress.

Pretty sure you can get a free steam code from the frontier online shop.

Anyone got any tips for good locations for those pesky modular terminals for unlocking Gwent?

You normally get Modular terminals as rewards for doing missions, they are sold at some places that can be found on EBB or Thruds but they are normally the other side of the bubble so it maybe easier just to have a look through the mission board

Not at home so cant link you to EBB or thruds but a quick google and you should find them

They were mission rewards (4 at a time) for me at high tech boom states that I was friendly with. Took me quite a while to get the damned things though and they were never an option of buying when I was getting them.

Mod terminals are not for sale anywhere. I was getting quite a few doing missions in my FdL at 17 Draconis when I was ranking fed. No cargo space so had to keep dumping them.

Maybe I just need to head back out there in a ship with 25 cargo.

Not having cargo storage is just a complete PITA.

I don't really see it as any more of an exploit than the "Kill 18 Pirates in XYZ system" missions...
You can get several Kill Pirates missions in the same system, from different factions, for 6, 8 and 12 targets, whereby killing the 18 automatically earns you the others as well.
So just as one Wanted NPC can have a local bounty, plus several bounties in other systems which you can collect if you have a KWS, so too can several people place a kill mission on the same one target.

damn alioth permit, so ive been trying for ages to get the alioth permit, so each time I take a mission there is a mission in the requirements not met section saying alioth permit, but I obviously need to be allied, so I have now got myself allied with alioth independents and the mission is no longer there, but it was 10 mins ago before I handed in the last mission doh,

It will show up again. Log in and out is what I would do but probably deemed as cheating, so up to you :D

When you buy either elite or horizons on steam you have to register the serial with your frontier account.

you can also add elite to your steam account

ahh great so you get both. I dont really fancy uninstalling and then reinstalling Elite on steam but if you get a code for both (so have the option to run from either) then that settles that :D
