which fifa tournament is that?

ive had a look at that virgin gaming, but i dont fancy betting say £5 that i can beat 'x' player, its pretty boring compared to a proper tournament.

It's the main fifa tournament, think it happens in like May time roughly, the top 10 players get to go LA and that's where the final plays!

I played Virgin Gaming, flawed in a lot of ways so couldn't be bothered.

I dont think ill be touching virgin gaming then, so its basicaly the top 10 players on the leaderboard by may or ?
 
I believe it to be the Fifa Interactive World Cup, basically six separate online qualifying seasons of 25 days each, with the top two overall players in each season qualifying for the final, from December to May.

If you think you could beat quinzas (fiwc champ) and co, theyre on vg....

when i played normal online i was in the top 100 for a couple of weeks in the ''weekly'' leaderboard, i only played a few even though there were people with 200 games played in the week compared to my 10-20, so im sure the overall leaderboard works the same way.

im sure the top 1000 wouldnt be that hard too accomplish at all tbh, ive got a guy on my friends list from dignitas gaming, he was the best at one stage in fifa9 or 10 won a few tourneys i watched on bravo i think, he really wasnt nothing special though (what is special?), i didnt understand it, my record was better than his on world cup game too.

Bazza? He was primarily a PC player, and the world cup game wasnt played competitively bar one terrible tournament in Gateshead (lol)
 
It's just highly frustrating getting a game, people quitting, not properly betting, etc.

People pick and chose and stuff, just annoying that's all.

I dont think youre giving it a proper go then, if they quit you get the default and the winnings, vg's results tracking system is pretty good. Picking and choosing exists everywhere, no different to table selection in poker....
 
Really not enjoying the tactical defending so far, so I've turned it off. Well done to EA for giving me the option. I'll probably stick it on when I get the full game, but for now I just want to get used to playing it without sucking hugely at defending.

Theyre very very good, and still able to play to the same high standards despite being under ridiculous pressure. We frequently see new faces at tournaments, thinking its not difficult to beat the "pros". They nearly always end up on the receiving end of a thrashing!
 
Does anyone know whether the tactical defending will have to be used for online matches? I just want to be playing the game with the same settings that standard ranked quick match will be played, so I can try to not.. Well, suck. :p

My guess is that tactical defending will have to be used online, which is why I'll probably use it when I get the full game. Still, Fifa is definitely a single player experience for me in the main, so if I don't get to grips with it, it's nice to know I can turn it off for career mode.
 
If EA disable it for online ranked games we'll have the same uproar there was last year with the 'pro passing'.

They should just have everything enabled so everyone is in the same boat, job done.
 
Took me a while today, but finally able to win 75% of the matches on Legendary now. Switching the controls around so they are similar to FIFA 11 helped so much. If you are struggling, I suggest you do that!

it wont help online when the game is released though :( so i advise not too, just get used to it, practice, it will be the same in years to come in fifa i pressume anyway, so youll have to get used to it if you play online.

finally won a game on legendary after a dozen games, im loving the challenge though, its nice not to have games with a ridiculous amount of goals, theres definatly a bigger challenge to this than any other fifa i have played.
