***** The Official Galaxy Nexus Thread *****

So I've just ordered one of these on a new T-Mobile contract. As usual this thread is rather large so is there anything I should know or do / tweak when I get it? Is there any point in using custom ROMs if you like the 'vanilla' ICS?

I think the Vanilla is fine. I've tried out AOKP, it brings some nice features but the stock is good enough for me.

People speak of different launchers at times. Again, the stock is pretty good - however Nova Launcher is based off ICS and I think it adds some nice additions.

Best improvement I've found from using ROMs is better battery life and the ability to add custom targets to the lockscreen. On mine I have swipe to left for camera, swipe upper left for phone and upper right for messages... unlock is where it always is. Codename Android is the best ROM I've tried so far.

Guess when I have inserted new sim card....

Erm, if people didn't know that I would be surprised. Without a SIM, it doesn't actually do anything. Turn airplane mode on and you phone will last a week or two!

Might as well say "Look how long my battery lasted until I turned the phone on!" :)

After installing CM9, the Trebuchet launcher did my head in being so sluggish and basic in it's features/options so I installed Nova and was unimpressed.. Then I found Apex Launcher and it's brilliant!

Smoother than Trebuchet and Nova and if you're rooted and you install it as a system app to /system/app it still lets you add widgets from the app drawer - which is nice :D

Granted, I'm not on a Nexus, so I'm sure everything is smooth as silk on that badboy compared to my Galaxy Portal, but still, my input is ICS related :D lol
