**** The Official Google Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL Thread ****

Kinda Blue 2 + Ringke Fusion Clear here... the slight bulk of the case on the phone's been a lifesaver for me. No glass screen protector on, but the phone's taken a dive a couple of times and is spotless.

As @thewanted says, it's quite grippy and a little thick, but personally I'd prefer it to that Peel case after chipping the screen on my first P1XL in a case like that!

Cheers chaps @thewanted @whiskycycle

Will be placing an order tonight. Good to hear a fellow Kinda Blue owner. It looked really good in store and makes a change for a slab of black. The Ringke should show it off nicely. Phone should arrive Friday and given a proper test during X-mas week.

So I tried Bluetooth audio for the first time today, to my Monic BT speaker. In the space of about 40 minutes I heard maybe 3 or 4 relatively loud "clicks" in the music.

Does this mirror everyone elses experience?

? Could you be operating at the proximity limits of Bluetooth? Is it 150 feet distance from source that breaks up sound?

Nope nothing like that on my 2XL,ony Bt issue for me is the lack of meta data on the other half's nav unit in her car.

Any recommendations for backgrounds?

Reddit, Backdrops or the Google Wallpaper app for me, between the three I can always find something I like. :)

Any recommendations on a case? I like the official canvas black one but then it'll hide the Kinda blue colour and from what can see isn't drop friendly.

I've got the Google canvas case and its protected it well on the two times I've dropped it onto a hard floor. However, it's not as grippy as I'd like, hence the two drops so far!

Thanks @ahar I will consider it maybe in the future but went for the Ringke for now to show off the Kinda Blue colour. I may grab one in the future once I feel like a change.

Can anyone please recommend the following?

1) additional usb-c cables
2) usb-c to micro usb converters or not worth the hassle?
3) entry level bluetooth in-earphones? might get the some jaybirds but needed a cheap set for work.

Thanks.

Ah that's good to know about Google dealing with it, only problem now is go fetch a black one today, order a white one from cpw and it will be delivered tomorrow or just order from Google but haven't a clue when I would get it :)

1) https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01M3VLS3M/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (Got these on a Lightening deal a couple of weeks back)
2) https://www.amazon.co.uk/AUKEY-Adap...514035195&sr=8-2&keywords=aukey+usb+c+adapter

Cables have been great and the adapters have all worked flawlessly since I got them last year for my Pixel XL. The adapters are well worth it if like me you have a load of micro usb cables at your disposal. In the last year my device list at home has slowly shifted towards usb c so I decided to bite the bullet and get some extra cables in the end.
3) Can't help with this one unfortunately although I am patiently waiting to open my AirPods on Christmas Day :D

Google's RMA/warranty is better in that they send you a new phone before you send your old phone back to them. I'd order from the G store if you can bear to wait.

Here's something to think about this holiday weekend:

Pixel 2 XL, Note 8, iPhone X, LG V30, HTC U11: What is arguably the most important feature on these smartphones? The camera!

The Verge has done what I consider to be the most comprehensive review to date of the cameras on each of these smartphones. They review most camera features you might be needing including Low Light, Daylight, Portrait Mode, Selfies, Video, etc.

Conclusion: "Based on our tests the Pixel 2 XL has the best camera of these five smartphones. It repeatedly and consistently captures the most accurate colors, the most detail, and tackles challenging lighting scenarios that make the other smartphone cameras weep. Google’s computational photography approach pushed it into the lead last year, and I think it’s gained even more ground this year. I couldn’t be more excited to see where it goes over the next few."

What do you think?
