The camera is something else. Has made snapping the kids far easier. They don't play up as much as not using my main camera gear and generally get more candid stuff. The machine learning hopefully just matures even more.

I’ve just googled those, they look pretty nice and people seem to speak highly of them, which colour have you got?

I’ve got some Ringke clear case on mine. It does the job, but it doesn’t sit completely flat on a table and it doesn’t exactly feel that nice in the hand.

I went for the Carbon one. It's not as dark as the picture makes out.
 
Interesting survey with implications for future phone use says that people who own Google Home or Amazon Echo use phones less. Recall that Google and Amazon both offer phone calling from their Home and Echo devices in the US and Google has said it plans to introduce this feature to UK soon.

When they allow calls and messaging it will reduce my phone usage at home quite a bit.

You hated a tiny bezel that doesn’t even take up the entire top of the screen but a phone with both a top and bottom bezel is fine?

Yes because the bezel top and bottom doesn't cover parts of the screen in games & apps - those that are not updated are letterboxed, ie pointless to have the larger screen for. And the ones that have been updated look odd and still do not fit a ridiculous resolution.
I would sooner have had a top and bottom bezel on the X rather than a notch halfway in the middle top of the screen.

It's like getting a bit of Black tape and putting it on the top of my TV, no one would do that, just the arrogance of Apple to do it and think it's the way forward...

(FYI I am not Anti-Apple I have an iPad which is great, and Macbook).

Haha! Had then happen the other day and realised later I had snagged the cable from the charger port!

How are you guys finding the video? The pictures are a lot better but not so sure about the video in certain situations.
