**** The Official Google Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL Thread ****

That's great! What way did they leave it with you? Do they collect your current phone and ship a replacement after or is it a straight doorstep swap?

They email you a prepaid label. You have to send yours back and you get the new one within 14 days. Bit of a pain since that's my only phone.
I have found myself looking at iphones. Not sure what to do, but my phone is going back tomorrow.

Do I find some crappy phone from work to use for a couple of weeks or buy an iphone 8 tomorrow. Regardless, I will be selling the new XL on ebay when it arrives to part pay for a new one.

In addition to the comments I made earlier about the rumoured Pixel launch dates, I suppose that supply constraints on component parts is also particularly acute this time of year. Shortages of all screen displays are projected to last well into 2018.

If you are buying a Pixel 2 XL with the expected 18:9 aspect ratio, suggest you put your pre-order in early to avoid disappointment again.

I know.

Not sure what I'm going to do actually. I'll maybe wait until tomorrow and see the unveiling.

V30 still tempts me but. Yeah.

Think I'll just cope with the bezels if the price is right. Not much different to my S7 Edge in reality.

Well looks like the Gs 8 will be getting my money this year....

Unless the pixel 2 is far better in the camera or/and battery department.....

anyone able to see the thread from last year where everyone said if it's plus £700+ etc then i'm out, then it was unveiled and everyone was like screw it i'm buying :D

i do the same each year the price has jumped up. Nexus 4 was cheap, nexus 5 still cheap but less so, nexus 6P even less cheap. each time i was like not buying if it's more expensive, then each time they show it off and i'm sold.

willing to bet we will see the same again here.

To be fair, having said my limit is £500-600 I've got a bonus coming from work this week so I'll end up buying a Pixel 2 XL :D

For me it depends on what gets unveiled.

How different will it be from last year in terms of pixel exclusive features, camera performance etc.

Whether I get the Pixel 2 or the XL 2 is another matter.

I stuck with my 6p until it died. I was planning to buy it but at that silly money didn't see the worth. Now I've had a full refund from my 6p I'll use the 600 quid from that :D

Another XL 2 image.

So come on then, what do we think they'll cost? Realistically. We know (supposedly) the US prices, but what about us over here?

Droid Life leaked some information ahead of the official announcement: The HTC-made Pixel 2 will launch for $649 (£479) for the 64GB model and $749 (£553) for the 128GB model. The Pixel XL 2 meanwhile, will set you back $849 (£627) for the 64GB model and $949 (£700) for the 128GB configuration. As for colours, both the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 can be picked up in "just black", "clearly white" and a new "kinda blue" colour scheme.

Do you guys think that's anywhere near?

I already own a Pixel, and the Pixel 2 just looks like it will be a total side grade. I fancy moving up a screen size to see if my phone can render my tablet redundant (I travel a lot, so would like to see how I feel about Netflix etc..), and the XL 2 appeals from that POV.

I'd be over the moon if the XL was anywhere near £650. But going by the fact the XL was over £700 last year, I can't see it be any cheaper this year even despite the £/$ difference now. At a guess, I'd say £750 minimum.

Was the XL £720/£820? I would guess this year £750/£850, which I'd be okay with, given the smaller one is now 64gb and would be plenty for me. That was my biggest annoyance last year, 32 is too small for me, and 128 is too much.
