Well I seem to be experiencing an intermittant problem where the phone sets my ringtone to 'none'. Tried disabling battery optimisation etc and nothing seems to sort it.

Thought it might be related to bluetooth at first as often happens after I've been in the car but doesnt seem to be the case. Also app notifications a bit hit and miss. Driving me bonkers

Now you can see why I was being persistent with the dongle, obviously it's the ports & not the dongle.

Having strange results. It did charge overnight but I would say the port is damaged. If I plug into pc windows goes nuts . If I plug in charger(s) the phone reboots but does charge when off. I am in Belgium next week so will limp through then RMA on Friday

RMA will be good as I did drop naked last month and have a few marks. So getting a new one will work out nicely.

Have you tried to see if it'll charge or connect to the PC properly when booted into safe mode?

Press power until the power off menu shows & then hold on the power off icon until another pop up comes up saying "reboot to safe mode"

Not yet. To be honest I am not going to fluff around I have found a way to get it charging so will limp through until Thursday and then RMA .

Yep, also having this now.

Not even a week with the phone and it's turning out to be a ****ing nightmare.

The thing vibrates, and rings for phone calls, but Whatsapp/Text/Email etc only have vibrate. Restarted it and that's fixed it, but from reading around that's only a temporary fix.

Been doing some more testing and looks like one of my 3 chargers has broken. All pixel or pixel 2 official ones. My pixel 2 XL will charge turned off but not on.

Very odd. Just did a factory reset which was a waste of time

Maybe I didn't notice it earlier, or it's just appeared, but I have a dead pixel bang on centre of the screen. Cannot believe it.

This unit is going to be replaced, sick of it now. If the next one has problems then I'm out and probably going to look at the new Nokia handsets instead.

I'm hoping the march update addresses it. Do you have Bluetooth on regular?

Yup, I have Bluetooth on all the time, it has been on all the time since coming out the box. Connected to my watch and car generally.

Booked this device for return on Monday, might take up to the end of the week for a replacement to arrive though.

I take it your issues with the notifications are due to the apps notif settings?

Settings > Apps and notifications > App > App notifications.

When I spoke to google I got the impression its a software issue not hardware. Have they told you different? My issues started after the recent update.

They told me on the phone to turn bt on then restart, then turn bt off then restart. Not sure why but so far it has helped massively. That said I have not been in the car much since the snow.

You mention it being connected to your watch, I remember when I had a smartwatch(es) and there was a setting or some feature where when the watch and phone were connected it changed the notification settings of the phone. Apologies if I'm preaching to the choir but worth checking out if you haven't already.

I usually use that setting but haven't turned it on yet.

Rebooting fixed it for half a day, I think since turning from vibrate only mode to full volume has broken it again. Emails only vibrate, WhatsApp, text etc only calls making sound again. Rebooting again....

I haven't booked the replacement for this issue. Just for the dead pixel slap bang in the middle of the screen and the awful blue shift I've got.

I placed my pixel 2 XL against my wife's s8, not going Todo that to often

her screen is significantly better. Still love the phone but the screen is poor in comparison to others

I'm going to get a look at the S9+ when it launches... The Pixel 2 XL is clearly flawed and only @sesevans could claim otherwise.

Hopefully the Pixel 3 can hit the spot because I'm not sure Google will get away with another vastly overpriced flop.

Hi, got an issue with my pixel 2 and wondered if anyone has had a similar experience - bought it in November.

The phone was working fine yesterday, I put it on charge last night and when I woke up today the screen was blank.

It occasionally vibrates, there are no LED lights doing anything and when I plug it into the PC it is in charging mode. Sent an email to Google who responded by saying phone them, not that I can without a phone!

Reading the thread looks like a few of you had issues with an OTA update but it sorted itself out once installed and it has now been over 12 hours!

Any help/advice much appreciated :-)
