On the flip side the Pixel XL will have an OLED screen which will destroy the LCD on the iPhone and XL will at least include a fast charger in the box.
Although both fail on the headphone jack front.

Not to sure about the design of the new Pixel, quite bland. Mind you the first Pixel wasn't s how stopper either. Find myself admiring the Nokia 9 leaks more, lovely looking phone.

My guess is the £599 the Pixel came in at last year, I would like to be surprised though.

the pixel xl 1 is currently £720, how will the new one not be £800+

I think it will be at least £799 personally, even though I don't think it warrants it
Then again, I don't know how much they are paying for the screens. I know Samsung make more profit on the iPhone X than it does on the S8 for instance. Think it's LG supplying Google, but again I don't know how much LG are charging them.
I'm in a quandary. Google are sending me a brand new XL as a replacement for my Pixel so as I see it my options are
1. Keep the new XL for a year (have the same bugs as on my pixel with bluetooth in the car and just pray google fix it with an update)
2. Sell the XL on ebay and put some money towards an XL2 (hope android 8.1 and the new bluetooth chip works)
3. Same as option 2 but an iPhone 8 Plus (can I live with ios?) and have full spotify integration in the car
I'm heavily invested with Google and have all nest products, android tv and home so doing any eco switch is going to be a right pain
99% set on Pixel 2 XL but if it's too expensive i'll have to rethink my options
of course there is always the option of the non XL model
@TheOracle You could buy an iPhone anyway just to take advantage of the two week no quibble returns policy and see how you get on.

That's a good suggestion actually, and would bridge the gap whilst my Pixel is being RMA'd in any case lol
I'll watch the google event tonight at 5pm and make my mind up between now and the weekend. It's a shame the non XL didn't have the redesigned handset with thin bezels.
