**** The Official Google Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL Thread ****

He didn't ask about wireless and I would think it's the hardware that makes it sound better, not magic. I don't think magic is real tbh...

I'm sorry, I don't follow - here2018 said that a pair of B&O E8s sound better through his Note 8. They're a wireless pair of earphones, so the digital to analogue conversion will take place in the earphones, which would mean regardless of which device you're using, as long as it supports aptx, it'll sound the same.

I feel like my battery is draining faster than it was a few weeks ago, need to take some time to measure it properly - really hoping it's just placebo...

I joined the 2 XL club on Mon evening, got all setup and happy until 17 hours later :(

My device has been doing the "screen flash" thing when pressing the power button to turn it off. It's almost as though the phone is trying to workout what to display on the ambient display for a fraction of a second and then shows the clock and notifications.

Got asked to try safe mode, and while i was on a chat with Google it happened a couple more times. Did a factory reset last night and within an hour it flashed a few more times. So far today seems ok, but not a happy chappy :(

They are replacing mine under RMA for the exact same issue

Edit: here's my issue https://youtu.be/jhyjUj9wIDI

Thanks, that's exactly it. I want to give it another go as i really like the Pixel 2. The intensity of my screen flash seems to change, apologies for the vertical video, what was i thinking... https://youtu.be/tzB2ZT4aD8c

This was this morning, it's mad that i have to hold another phone to video record when i unlock/lock my pixel. I'll be trying my luck back at Carphone to see if they can swap it.

Started having horrendous WiFi issues today. It won't stay connected to anything.

Nightmare for controlling my amp through Spotify connect - it keeps disconnecting :/

How long did it take
About 20 mins in store. I explained what happend, left the phone setup without my sim and had a recorded video of the flash. But thankfully it flashed there and then in store.

They said I've 30 days and then they would start pushing towards warranty repair rather than swapping it there and then.

Didn't realise you hadn't had it long.

My 5th 2 XL has no screen issues, apart from the normal ones that they all have. Finally.

Anyone know if it's possible to hide the nav bar at the bottom without root? I used to always use a pi navigator when I didn't need to be non-rooted.

Can Nova not do this

No I think you need root to do that, I've watched a few tutorials. Not sure I can be arsed to root!!

Yea, from looking it appears I need root, or at the very least have a custom recovery.

Think I'll just live with the damn nav bar for now.

I'm sure there is another launcher which provides that option, I had a bunch of them on a previous phone, will try and have a look.
