**** The Official Google Pixel C Thread ****

Went through support and full reset seems to have tamed it, but on your experience maybe that's wishful thinking!

On the whole, it's been fine since, although I've not thrown full suite of apps and the like at it.

Noticed on the Google store that the 32GB isn't available any more too... hmmm...
What's the first 2 digits of your serial number?

Definitely feels different... I've not used split screen much, before or after Oreo update, but overall the whole experience does feel improved.

_still_ my absolute go-to device for pretty much anything other than PC/XBox gaming.

Any idea when this is due for replacement? I fancy a new tablet but don't want to buy this if it's going to get replace with new model.

Any idea when this is due for replacement?.

Seems to be quiet on the grapevine over a replacement, although there were some "Pixel 7/8" rumours last year around the time the Pixel phones arrived... nothing concrete or sensible, or of the quality of rumours/leaks from the likes of Evan Blass and the like.

Honestly don't understand the lack of love for this in the tame tech press either... just looked at a couple of "What to buy in late 2017" tablet articles and although the Pixel C gets a mention, it's all iPad (2017) and don't bother with owt else... I ended up trying iPad again in April and it drove me utterly insane within a couple of months again. There may be a distinct lack of Apple-style tablet coordination and tablet app targetting, but I honestly can't go with anything else tablet-wise, and will be gutted if my Pixel C goes belly up and I can't fix/replace.

It's a great device, but the experience is not amazing without third party apps fixing Google's incompetence...
Without Rotation Control Pro, I would not use the Pixel as much as I do. It was always pretty infuriating when apps would just switch to portrait, regardless of being landscape whilst on the keyboard.

I'd also be gutted if mine broke, there's not another Android tablet that can replace it at the moment.

d'Oh! Rotation, forgot about that... given it's sitting there and taming stupid apps/Google incompetence! Definitely one of the best app buys I've made.

I assume other Android tablets have the same issue, although I don't remember my Nexus 9 doing that?
It's a must have, although feel like Google should allow us this kind of control by default. Apps may not be designed for tablets, but I've never thought it's been horrible to use a rotated app.

Have recently picked 1 of these up and have a couple of questions:

My screen has a slight yellow tint compared to my Z3 tablet ... is this normal?

Also in some games the picture freezes but you can hear the game is still going (Real Drift) for 1 of the games. Is this down to the game maybe not updated for Oero? ... I tried checking the CPU temp but those apps keep crashing.

cheers.

Edit
added 15 sec video of game freezing

Do the Pixel C tablets have 2 year warranty ?
Reason i ask is the mate has had his for 13 months and the backlight stopped working.
Originally from Currys but they said no warranty 12 months with Currys.

my invoice shows 2 years.

I would have thought it would be 12 month with place of purchase and remainder with manufacturer.

Google will not repair it.They told him if it had been bought from them they would have replaced it but as he bought from Currys
he had to get them to repair it.Currys say they will not repair so it's back to Google again.

It's irrelevant where it was bought from, Google still have to replace it.

Either they replace it directly or indirectly via Currys which seems pointless.
